CORE RETURNS
PROCEDURE FOR RETURNING
TRANSMISSION CORES
AIT does not use RA numbers or forms, but we appreciate a bit of help in identifying your return. Please include a copy of the packing list, invoice, or purchase order with your core return.

Ship cores freight class 85 to assure coverage by carrier’s insurance. Oil should be drained and converters secured into transmission or put into separate carton on pallet. Core returns received freight collect will be charged back as a reduction to the core credit issued.
American Industrial Transmission will issue core credit within 30 days of receipt of your core. In the event that your core does not receive full credit, AIT will fax a letter of explanation. You will be given the opportunity to inspect the damaged components. Digital photographs can also be requested.
No deduction is made for cores that have been torn down. If your transmission core is returned disassembled, please take care in packaging. Damage to gears or shafts can occur if they are loosely packed. This may result in a charge against your core credit.
