CORE DEPOSITS

  • A CORE IS A PROMISE TO RETURN THE CUSTOMER'S WORN UNIT.

  • AIT invoices you for the price of the reman transmission PLUS the core deposit.

  • A 10% penalty is levied on cores that are not returned within 6 weeks.

  • We reserve the right to refuse return of any core that is over three months overdue.

  • A core credit is not issued until AIT does a complete inspection of your unit. This may take up to 30 days after we receive your core.

  • Core reductions will be charged if your core is in poor condition. Some of our guidelines are:
    • Excessive gear and/or shaft damage
    • Broken or cracked case, housing or casting
    • Ring and pinion not reusable
    • Damage to drum or planetary unit
    • Worn out or badly scored control valve
    • Missing components
    • Badly damaged torque converter components

  • AIT will fax you an explanation of any core reductions.

  • You may request the return of damaged parts for inspection (at your expense).

  • In most instances, cores may be returned disassembled.

  • If you have a question about a specific problem you suspect with your customer's core, please call us. We can often give you a dollar figure based upon your condition report.

  • AIT DOES NOT GUARANTEE CORE AVAILABILITY.
